Aurora Theatre assembles the best children's performers in the region, bringing them to Gwinnett County for the series Aurora Children's Playhouse. This holiday season will be double the fun with an expanded schedule including performances both at 10 & 11 AM the three Saturday's in December leading up to Christmas. Parents are always looking out for inexpensive activities that are fun for the whole family; Aurora Children's Playhouse has them.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra brings live music into the lives of its community, and the coming holiday season will be no different. From Pops to Gospel and Celtic Woman, to the family-favorite Kid's Christmas and traditional Messiah and "Christmas with the ASO," there is a live holiday music experience for everyone. Seven holiday programs will make up this year's 2012 Coca-Cola Holiday Concerts series, December 6-31, 2012.

The ambitious and aggressive training program ended its first season by successfully completing the 11 Short Films it promised under at times adverse conditions. But all they will remember is the sweet taste of victory, because all 11 films were shot, edited, and scored, and are now ready for screening at the 3rd Annual Bronze Lens Film Festival in Atlanta, GA.

The Department of Communication Arts at Georgia Southern University celebrates the 100th anniversary of radio with its Theatre and Performance's presentation of The 1940's Radio Hour by Walton Jones. The 1940's Radio Hour opens runs now through November 14. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m.

Horizon Theatre Company Receives $10,000 Spring Local Giving Grant

Sprint recently announced Horizon Theatre as one of the 2012 recipients of its Atlanta Local Giving Program. The Atlanta Local Giving Program awards Sprint Foundation grants to area non-profits that support Sprint's philanthropic focus areas of youth development, arts and culture, and environmental stewardship. Horizon received a grant for $10,000 toward its Education and Outreach Program.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program (TDP), which supports the musical development of talented young African-American and Latino students, will hold its annual Fall Musicale on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. The Musicale, held in support of the Azira G. Hill Scholarship Fund, will take place in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the public. Tickets are required, and are available at aso.org.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will bring the soundtrack of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to life in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center November 23-24, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Guest Conductor Richard Kaufman, who has devoted much of his musical life to conducting and supervising music for film and television productions, will lead the Orchestra and the Atlanta Vocal Project in the score from the movie, which will be shown on a giant screen.
