ArtsVibe Teen Program Announces Inaugural Teen Council; Holiday Party Set for 12/21

The Wells Fargo ArtsVibe Teen Program - a new initiative to engage metropolitan Atlanta teenagers as active participants in the arts - has announced the inaugural ArtsVibe Teen Council. Forty-nine teens throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area were selected to participate, and the students will work closely with arts administrators from the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art, and Young Audiences to help program and promote ArtsVibe events to their fellow peers in the Atlanta community.

Pianist Emanuel Ax will join Atlanta Symphony Orchestra musicians for a pre-concert chamber music recital -prior to the Orchestra's subscription performance- on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at 6:45 p.m. ASO Insider and Program Annotator Ken Meltzer will host the recital, which will feature a complete performance of Brahms's Piano Quintet in F minor. Mr. Ax will be joined by Concertmaster David Coucheron, Principal Second Violin David Arenz, Principal Viola Reid Harris, and Principal Cello Christopher Rex. The recital will take place in Atlanta Symphony Hall, and is free and open to all ticket holders for the November 29-December 1, 2012, concerts. Concert tickets must be shown at entry.

THE MOUNTAINTOP Opens True Colors Theatre Company's 2012-13 Season Tonight

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company announce their 2012-2013 season. This is the 10th anniversary season for Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company, which opens in November with a Regional Premiere of Leon's hit Broadway show, The Mountaintop by Katori Hall directed by Jasmine Guy. The Mountaintop will be followed by August Wilson's classic Two Trains Running in February 2013. The season concludes in July 2013 with Shakin' the Rafters, a World Premiere gospel musical by former Alliance Theatre Associate Artistic Director, David H. Bell, the writer who brought us Gut Bucket Blues and Hot Mikado.
