Theatreworks/USA, "America's foremost not-for-profit professional theatre for family audiences," has expanded its Chelsea Studios at 151 West 26th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues) to create the largest rehearsal studio space in Chelsea. The new Chelsea Studios will open on April 1, 2006.

The new Chelsea Studios boasts 30,000 square feet of rehearsal space, with a total of 16 rehearsal rooms and four rentable production offices, occupying both the fifth and sixth floors of 151 West 26th Street. This expansion doubles the size of the Chelsea Studios, which previously occupied just the sixth floor, and creates two large 50' x 30' studio spaces, suitable for large cast rehearsals.

Theatreworks/USA took possession of the fifth floor of the building last year and, working with performing arts architects, has redesigned the space to accommodate dramatic, musical, dance rehearsal and audition requirements.

These AEA-approved studios have all the essential amenities, including sprung hardwood floors, changing rooms, data/fax lines, vocal warm-up spaces, pianos in all rooms, and portable and adjustable ballet barres.

The new Chelsea Studios will continue its "Chelsea Studios Sugar Fix" tradition of providing actors and dancers with an endless supply of free M & M's and Jolly Ranchers.
