Student Blog: My Top 3 Tony Moments Our favorite Sunday awards show has come and gone, and it was exactly what the theatre community needed. Only a few weeks after Broadway began to re-open, our favorite stars took the stage to celebrate each other's art. And who better to host than Audra McDonald and Leslie Odom Jr.?

Without further ado, here are my top three favorite performances from this year's show.

1. "For Good"

If Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel could reunite to sing Wicked songs once a year, that'd be fantastic. As soon as they took the stage last Sunday to sing the final song between the two characters, I knew to get the tissues out. From the premiere of Wicked twenty years ago we got two Broadway powerhouses and performance idols - and they're not letting us forget that just yet. Their performance was a reminder that we'll always have a soft spot for Wicked in our hearts.

2. Opening Number

I know we all know how talented Leslie Odom Jr. is, but in case you forgot during the pandemic, there's THIS.

3. Moulin Rouge!
Finally! Moulin Rouge gets it's shining moment as it presents for the "Best Musical" category - and shine it does. The spectacle of this show is unbelievable, and in just a few minutes of airtime proved itself to be a modern hit.

Here's to the return to normalcy, and the return of the Tony Awards!
