Physical Theater Festival Chicago has announced additional programming for its 2026 festival, featuring performances, workshops, and events highlighting local and International Artists. The festival will take place at Theater Wit and The Dance Center at Columbia College Chicago.
SCRATCH NIGHT AND MADE IN CHICAGO
The festival will open its locally focused programming with Scratch Night on June 1 at Theater Wit, offering emerging Chicago artists a platform to present short works in progress. The event will feature performers from disciplines including dance, acrobatics, and clowning.
Made in Chicago Night will follow on June 2, presenting expanded works developed from Scratch Night. This year’s lineup includes MATADORA by INSÉKTA and LegLand by The New F-Word, each exploring themes through movement-based performance.
I THINK IT COULD WORK AND FEATURED PERFORMANCES
The festival will feature I Think It Could Work by Full Out Formula, running June 3–7 at Theater Wit. The Chicago-based circus collective combines acrobatics and improvisation in a performance shaped by audience interaction.
Additional performances include Beau and Aero by A Little Bit OFF, a clown and acrobatics piece, and Los Regalos/The Gifts by Compañia de Teatro Físico, presented at The Dance Center. Other featured works include SELL ME: I am from North Korea by Sora Baek and Apocalipsync by Luciano Rosso.
WORKSHOPS AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING
A series of workshops will take place June 4–7 at the Wirtz Center Chicago, offering training in areas such as partner acrobatics, clowning, and solo performance creation. The sessions are designed for participants at multiple experience levels.
FESTIVAL DETAILS
General admission tickets for performances range from $36 to $40, with discounted pricing available for students, seniors, and industry members. Festival passes and workshop packages are also available.
The 2026 festival will run over seven days, continuing its focus on contemporary, movement-based performance across disciplines including mime, circus, and dance.
