Strindberg's divisive and controversial play, Miss Julie closes this weeked after a two week run at Access Theater in TriBeCa. Tickets are available at www.missjulienyc.com. Scroll down for a first look at the show!

The scriptis adapted by up and coming playwright, Garrett David Kim, a staff member at the 52nd St Project; directed by Andrew Watkins (The Skin of Our Teeth, Doll's House and The Father at TFANA).

Miss Julie tells the story of Julie and Jean, who desperately long to break free from the lives they were born into. When the sexual tension between the two reaches a boiling point on Midsummer Night's Eve, the barriers of class and gender fall away leaving them to grapple with both their dependence and the oppressive nature of these societal forces.

The new staging will tackle modern gender and class politics head on and speak to an America that is struggling to re-examine and define its core values. This is Andrew's second time directing the play and has done extensive work on Strindberg and his contemporaries' plays.

The production will be designed by lighting designer, Oona Curley (Underground Railroad Game, Ars Nova + international tour); costume designer Christopher Metzger, (Sweat, Public Theater + Broadway); set designer Yu-Ting Lin (Made in China, 59e59); and sound designer Valentine Monfeuga (Sundown and Yellow Moon, Women's Project + Ars Nova).
