Nixon, Weaver et al. Sign onto 'Rampart' Film

Variety reports today that stage vets Cynthia Nixon (The Rabbit Hole, The Women, Indiscretions), Sigourney Weaver (Sex and Longing, Hurlyburly, The Constant Wife), Steve Buscemi, and Robin Wright will join Woody Harrelson, Ice Cube and Ben Foster on the cop-thriller, Rampart, financed by Amalgam Features. Filming is scheduled to begin on October 25 in Los Angeles.

The film, written by Oren Moverman and James Ellroy, is "Set against the backdrop of the scandal within the L.A.P.D. Rampart Division in the late 1990s...[and] is the fictional account of a veteran police officer (Harrelson) caught up in the scandal, and his search for redemption," according to Variety.
