On May 23rd, 2017 NEWSical The Musical, the 14th longest running Off-Broadway show and 4th longest running musical revue in history, will be celebrating its 2500th performance at Theatre Row.

To celebrate the milestone representatives from Mayor de Blasio's office will be in attendance to present producer Tom D'Angora with a proclamation declaring May 23rd as "NEWSical The Musical Day" in New York City! In addition to this honor, the production will also be receiving a Senate proclamation from Senataor Brad Hoylman's office.

Now in its 7th smash year, NEWSical is New York's ever-evolving musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. From politics to pop culture - nothing and no one in the news is safe! In 2500 performances the show has lampooned everyone and everything from the lowest depths of reality TV to the highest office in the land - and currently, NEWSical finds that it's sometimes hard to tell the difference! NEWSical was the first ever recipient of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical (2011) and has been nominated for multiple Drama Desk Awards over its historic run.

In 2012 NEWSical made national headlines when it welcomed celebrity blogger Perez Hilton to the company for four sold out weeks! Over the past 2500 performances NEWSical has had the privilege to feature some fun celebrity guest stars including Queer Eye's Carson Kressley, Broadway's original 'Annie' Andrea McArdle, Saturday Night Live's Cheri Oteri, Emmy Award winner Jacke?e, Real Houewives Kandi Burruss, and La Toya Jackson! NEWSical was featured on Jackson's reality TV show "Life with La Toya" on the OWN Network in 2014.

The current company features Taylor Crousore (Forbidden Broadway), Kristen Mengelkoch (Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder), Susan Mosher (Hairspray) and Michael West (Forbidden Broadway and When Pigs Fly) who has been with NEWSical since opening night! Sally Schwab (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and Scott Richard Foster (Forbidden Broadway) fill out the company as understudies.

Other performers that have appeared in NEWSical's core company over the years have included Rory O'Malley, Christine Pedi, Leslie Kritzer, Christina Bianco, Tommy Walker, Carly Sakolove, Amy Griffin, John West, Emily McNamara, Ryan Knowles, David Foley, Wade Dooley, Dylan Thompson, Meg Lanzarone, Erin Maguire, and Sheri Sanders.

NEWSical is proudly produced by Tom D'Angora and was created by and written by Rick Crom (Urinetown) with direction by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, Bea Arthur on Broadway - Just Between Friends, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy) and music direction by Ed Goldschneider, and is currently stage managed by Krystal Roccaro.

NEWSical The Musical plays at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Show times are Monday 8:15pm, Tuesday 8:15pm, Friday 8:15pm, Saturday 3pm & 8:15pm, Sunday 7:30pm. Tickets are $90 - $110 and can be purchased through Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200 or (800) 432-7250. For performance schedule and more information visit www.NEWSicalthemusical.com.
