Kathy Griffin was finishing her act in Clearwater, Florida when George Zimmerman's acquittal was announced in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
She turned to the audience and said, 'Well, I'm shocked and disappointed in this verdict. I'm in Florida. So we're all here at a comedy show. What do you say we just end on the most profane and filthy joke I can think of?' And then they all applauded. It's something you deal with. I remember doing a show in Cleveland the night Anna Nicole Smith passed away. And I knew her and I used to tease her in my act, and I had to deal with that too."
