BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Jennifer Gambatese (currently Penny in Hairspray) has been offered one of the leads in "All Shook Up"

Jennifer told BroadwayWorld.com, "I am so thrilled to finally get a chance to originate a role in a show headed for Broadway. After such a great experience with being involved in the genesis of Hairspray, I am grateful to have the opportunity to start another new creative process."

All Shook Up will first play the Goodspeed before it makes its way to Broadway (via an out-of-town tryout in Chicago) and features the songs of Elvis Presley. Songs includes "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel" and "Can't Help Falling In Love." Book is by Joe DiPietro, who was just represented off-Broadway with The Thing About Men and still currently running I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

The plot revolves around a small American town circa the 1950s. The residents all seem to be living on "Lonely Street" — until a mysterious stranger arrives who shakes things up.

Christopher Ashley is set to direct with choreography by Jodi Moccia.
