The Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of John Patrick Shanley's DOUBT begins rehearsals today and will begin previews at Manhattan Theatre Club at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street) on Thursday, November 4 in preparation for a new opening date of Tuesday, November 23. DOUBT will be directed by Doug Hughes.

The production will feature Heather Goldenhersh, Cherry Jones, Adriane Lenox, and Brían F. O'Byrne. Lenox replaces the previously announced Aunjanue Ellis who is unable able to participate in the production due to a television commitment.

In the 1960s, at a Catholic school in the Bronx, a nun grows suspicious when a priest begins taking too much interest in the life of a young male student. Is she being overly protective...or not protective enough?
