Claire Danes will be featured in the world premiere of the performance piece Edith & Jenny, by Tamar Rogoff.

The production will run at PS 122 from January 28-February 4.

"Interwined through Rogoff's signature choreography, performers Claire Danes and Ariel Rogoff Flavin explore the intimacy that has marked their life-long friendship...Danes and Flavin encounter their eleven year-old selves on screen, captured in their respective film debuts, Claire as Edith in Dreams of Love, and Ariel as Jenny in Coyote Mountain. Rites of passage unfold in fragments revealing the complexities of two fictional families. The lines between screen and stage, life and art, are blurred as Edith and Jenny, Danes and Flavin, form an alliance, stepping through and beyond their films and the fates of their families," as PS 122 notes describe.

Danes, who performed at PS 122 at the age of 6, more recently appeared at the venue in the dance piece Christina Olson: American Model. She endeared herself to a generation of teenagers as Angela in the short-lived cult favorite "My So-Called Life" (for which she received an Emmy nomination), and made the transition to film. Her movie credits include How To Make an American Quilt, To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, Les Miserables, Brokedown Palace, Igby Goes Down, The Hours, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Stage Beauty and Shopgirl.
