Scottish actor and singer Shona White has been appointed the first patron of the West End's Playhouse Theatre.

She also becomes the first patron to be appointed to a theatre operated by Ambassador Theatre Group, the UK's largest venue operator.

Shona has played a number of iconic roles, including Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show at the Playhouse, Elphaba in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, Éponine and Cosette in Les Misérables, Florence in Craig Revel Horwood's award-winning UK Tour of Chess, and most recently Donna in Mamma Mia! at London's Novello Theatre.

Shona White said: "I am thrilled to become Patron of such an historic venue which holds a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to supporting the Playhouse as it goes from strength to strength."
