Today, June 14, Becky Shaw concludes its limited Broadway engagement at the Hayes Theatre following 19 previews and 80 regular performances. The venue will soon be home to The Fantasticks, which begins previews on October 22.
Directed by Trip Cullman, Becky Shaw starred Patrick Ball, Emmy Award-nominee Madeline Brewer, Alden Ehrenreich, Linda Emond, and Tony Award-winner Lauren Patten. The play began previews March 18th and opened on Monday, April 6. Check out what the critics had to say.
A blind date spirals spectacularly off the rails in Becky Shaw, the razor-sharp dark comedy from two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo. Becky Shaw received its New York premiere with Second Stage Theater in 2009. This production marked Ms. Gionfriddo’s Broadway debut.
The production earned two Tony nominations and one win for Ehrenreich for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play.
