Young People's Theatre will present the Canadian Premiere of a rollicking new musical version of the beloved children's classic James and the Giant Peach. Created by Tony Award-nominated songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, this wonderfully touching show has just been extended due to popular demand and will be presented on the Mainstage beginning November 24, running to December 28.

Young James Trotter has been taken in by his outrageously overbearing aunts who treat him more like low-paid help than family. When he's ordered to chop down their scraggly old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that accidentally grows the world's largest peach - and so begins an adventure of enormous proportions. In keeping with YPT's season theme of "fairness", James finds himself cast in the role of peacemaker among a group of human-sized insects with over-sized grievances. Join them for their peachy escape over the ocean... away from James' greedy aunts and toward the Empire State Building!

Directed by Sue Miner. Featuring Lana Carillo, AlessandroCostantini, Saccha Dennis, Jacob MacInnis, Stewart Adam McKensey, Nicole Robert, Jonathan Tan, Karen Wood.

Musical Director: Jason Jestadt; Choreographer: Jen Shuber; Set Designer: Yannik Larivée; Costume Designer: Robin Fisher; Lighting Designer: Jason Hand; Sound Designer: Michael Laird; Assistant Director: Dale Miller; Stage Manager: Kristin McCollum; Assistant Stage Manager: Dini Conte.
