Toronto is awash with excitement in light of news that Ross Petty Productions has announced that the 18th annual holiday pantomime at the Elgin Theatre will beTHE LITTLE MERMAID, running November 22, 2013 - January 4, 2014. Petty is leaving behind The Brothers Grimm and entering Hans Christian Andersen territory through this classic story, but with a Petty pivot - his first-ever foray into the fishy fairy tale where anyFIN goes!

Currently starring as the title role in Evangeline at The Charlottetown Festival, musical theatre power house Chilina Kennedy will star as the Little Mermaid, bringing forth an impressive resume of stage work and critical acclaim that includes her role as Mary Magdalene in the Stratford to Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar. With an aquatic collection of friends by her side, the title character's quest for true love and happiness is aided by Dan Chameroy's sea-lacious Dame Plumbum, returning to the Elgin stage with his perennial persona as the Little Mermaid's aunt. Starring opposite Kennedy as the handsome Prince, and thebuoy of her dreams, is actor and Canadian Idol Season 1 finalist, Marc Devigne.

Second City funnyman Reid Janisse, whose wit, charm, and delivery commanded the room in last year's production of Snow White, returns to star in this year's show while also penning the O-FISH-AL script. And in another surprise twist, one radiant redhead by the name of JorDan Clark, winner of So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 4 and star of Family Channel's The Next Step TV series, will make her stage debut as Ogopogo's slithery assistant, while fan-favouriteEddie Glen returns as Petty's reluctant sidekick.

Petty himself is trading in his spanks for scales to tackle the role of Ogopogo, the evil serpent sea wizard. Shorely, Ross Petty's interpretation of Canada's mythical lake creature will bring a tsunami of boos and hisses at this year's family-friendly fractured holiday entertainment!

Tickets are $85/$75/$64/$27 for adults, $59 for children under 12, with a $235 Family 4-Pack option available. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rosspetty.com by phone at 1.855.599.9090.
