BITCH OF THE BASKERVILLES is a rollicking metatheatrical comedy featuring a gender swapped cast of characters drawn from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes canon. BITCH OF THE BASKERVILLES had its world premiere in Phoenix, Arizona at the Trunk Space in May 2014, which was co produced by Socratic Theatre Collective and Las Vegas' Current Theatrics, and featured collective members Amanda O'Halloran and Liz Bragg as Holmes and Watson. Socratic Theatre Collective is delighted to finally bring the bitch home to Toronto for its Canadian premiere, and to return to Unit 102 Theatre, which housed its production of The Dark Room in 2011.

The production is directed by Socratic Theatre Artistic Director Liz Bragg, and features returning members from Socratic Theatre shows: Amanda O'Halloran and Liz Bragg reprise their roles from the original production as Miss Sherlock Holmes and Dr Jane Watson, Basel Daoud (Lady Felmet and others in Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters) as Mr James Stapleton, and Laura Vincent (Hamlet in Hamlet: Princess of Denmark, most recently seen in The Cocksure Lads Movie) as Miss Jackie Stapleton.

Socratic ?Theatre? also? welcomes ?new ?cast? members ?Stephanie Folkins (Dorothy in Mysteriously Yours Dinner Theatre's Speakeasy) as Lady Henrietta Baskerville, Cassondra Padfield (360 Productions' The Vagina Monologues) as Miss Irene Adler, and Nicole Stawikowski (Gemma in the upcoming webseries Anti­Social) as Dr Jemima Mortimer. The production is assistant directed by Jennifer Jakob (stage manager for Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters), with costumes designed by Victoria Banjavcic (Socratic Theatre's Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment) and lighting design by Steve Vargo (Unit 102's Red Light Winter).

Socratic Theatre Collective is a non professional company dedicated to producing "theatre that creates a dialogue." The "Witches and Bitches" series is the fourth produced by the company, and also included the original production of S.R. Kriger's BITCH OF THE BASKERVILLES, which toured to Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, and the 2015 production of Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters.

BITCH OF THE BASKERVILLES (running 1 hour and 15 minutes, no intermission) will open tonight, February 19 and continues: Friday, February 19, 8:00 pm; Saturday, February 20, 8:00 pm; Sunday, February 21, 2:00 pm; Friday, February 26, 8:00 pm; Saturday, February 27, 8:00 pm; and Sunday, February 28, 8:00 pm. at Unit 102 Theatre, 376 Dufferin Street, Toronto.
