Acting Up Stage Company, Angelwalk Theatre and Theatre 20 Team Up to Celebrate Toronto's Musical Theatre Community!Toronto's three favourite not-for-profit musical theatre companies have joined forces to create "And 5, 6, 7, 8... A Musical Theatre Dance Party," a celebration of the amazing Toronto musical theatre community and an excuse to cut loose and shake your "Shipoopi"!

The event, jointly hosted by Acting Up Stage Company, Angelwalk Theatre and Theatre 20, will take place at the Drake Underground, the Drake Hotel's swanky underground lair (1150 Queen Street West).

Admission is FREE - please RSVP to to be put on the Guest List.

The evening will feature three special guest DJs: Acting Up Stage presents fierce and fabulous songstress Sharron Matthews, Angelwalk Theatre presents hunky triple threat Justin Bott and Theatre 20 presents theatre-super-producer/arts & culture junkie Derrick Chua. Each will present a 45-minute set of their favourite get-down-and-boogie tunes from the international musical theatre canon.

The evening will also feature dance-along/sing-along video, door prizes and giveaways! So get your "Time Warp" on and "Ease on Down the Road" to the "MAMBO!" at the school gym.

This evening of celebration and cooperation is supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Angelwalk Theatre is the only professional theatre company in Toronto dedicated to producing Off-Broadway style musical theatre. Theatre 20 is a Toronto-based, artist-led theatre company formed to present story-driven musicals by developing new Canadian works and by re-imagining existing repertoire. Alan Henry

Alan is a third year undergraduate student at York University, in Toronto. He has had a passion for the performing arts ever since he saw the original production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Princess of Wales Theatre. Alan has eleven years of intensive dance training under his belt, and in 2006 was the Canadian National Ballroom Champion in his age category. As a performer, Alan has been seen on stage at the Bathurst Street Theatre (now the Randolph Theatre), The FLATO Markham Theatre, The Leah Posluns Theatre, The Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts, and many more.

Alan first started blogging about theatre in 2011 with his now defunct blog, Broadway Toronto. In March 2013, Alan joined the team at BroadwayWorld Toronto and continued his foray into arts journalism. In February of 2014, Alan became the Senior Editor for the Toronto division of – and since then has expanded the regional coverage to include much of Southern Ontario, as well as many of the smaller professional theatre companies in the city.

A long term theatre fan, Alan is grateful to be a part of the Toronto arts community in any capacity.
