Pinocchio, by Josette Antomarchi and Marc Kotz, Music by Gary Rue, makes its World Premiere debut, June 30-July 29, 2012 at SteppingStone Theatre.

Playwrights Josette Antomarchi and Marc Kotz have gone back to the original Italian story of Pinocchio as inspiration for an entirely new version of the beloved tale. Antomarchi and Kotz have steeped the new play in the traditions of commedia dell¹arte, and it will be full of music, masks and magic.

Pinocchio at SteppingStone Theatre will be both familiar and new to fans of Disney's iconic movie. In going back to the original, the playwrights get to introduce us to characters and stories that didn't appear in the movie, but still stick to the main theme of a marionette learning to listen to his heart and become a "real boy."

SteppingStone Theatre's productions are professionally created and produced, with talents drawn from the best in the Twin Cities and throughout the U.S. The young actors are rigorously trained, but remain fresh and vibrant, bringing their joy and sense of fun to all SteppingStone Theatre's productions. Enjoyed by all ages, adults as well as children, SteppingStone Theatre's productions are affordable, high-quality entertainment.
