Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the next show of its fourteenth season, Private Lives, felt by many to be one of the finest examples of the wit and sophistication of Noel Coward's comedies. Coward is widely considered one of the greatest dramatists, composers and performers of the Twentieth Century, his works having been produced around the world since the 1920's. Often attributed to what Time magazine called his 'sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise,' Coward's plays never fail to please. (more...)

Just last night, he New Group just honored Founding Artistic Director Scott Elliott and celebrated its 20th Anniversary season. Scott Elliott is an award-winning stage director, filmmaker and the founding Artistic Director of The New Group, where he recently directed the critically acclaimed revival of David Rabe's Sticks and Bones. At The New Group, he has directed world premieres by Thomas Bradshaw, Ayub Khan Din, Francine Volpe, Erika Sheffer and Tommy Nohilly; and the world premiere of the 2010 musical The Kid (Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical; Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominations for Outstanding Musical). Other credits include The New Group's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie starring Cynthia Nixon; David Rabe's Hurlyburly; and numerous collaborations with Ayub Khan Din, Wallace Shawn and Mike Leigh. Broadway credits include Present Laughter, Barefoot in the Park, The Threepenny Opera, The Women and Three Sisters. Little Fish Theatre today announced the opening of the next show of its fourteenth season, The Doll, a fun, off-beat comedy written by celebrated Croatian writer Miro Gavran. Gavran is a highly successful playwright, both in the US and abroad. His works have been translated into 35 languages and seen by nearly 3 million theatre-goers. He is the only living dramatist in Europe to have a theatre festival devoted solely to his plays outside his/her homeland. The Gavranfest has been held in Slovakia since 2003. (April 6, 2015) — Music Director Marin Alsop leads her final Off the Cuff concert of the 2014-2015 season in collaboration with playwright in residence and director Didi Balle for a symphonic play exploring the life of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky as he wrote his Fifth Symphony. The semi-staged production, taking place on Friday, April 10, at 8:15 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, will take audiences into the mind of Tchaikovsky as he expresses his thoughts and feelings on fate, death, sexuality, money, madness and love.
