Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 50th anniversary season with Sticky Traps, a powerful new play by KC Rep's Playwright in Residence, Nathan Louis Jackson, Directed by Resident Director, Kyle Hatley. Sticky Traps focuses on a small town not far from Kansas City, where a mother protects her gay son's honor when his funeral is protested by a local church. Her actions have unintended consequences that will test her whole family - and the power of their love -- in the face of hate. Understudy James Moye has stepped into the role of 'Oscar Jaffe' since. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Gallagher is still out of the show to recover from a severe sinus infection. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Saturday evening's performance of On the Twentieth Century was canceled due to an ill Peter Gallagher. Understudy James Moye has stepped into the role of 'Oscar Jaffe' since. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Gallagher will remain out of the show tonight, but a representative for the production told BroadwayWord that he is 'hopeful he will back tomorrow.' (more...)

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring. The world premiere musical HAMILTON, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, has been extended three times at The Public due to sold-out demand and will close as scheduled on Sunday, May 3 prior to a Broadway transfer to the Richard Rodgers Theatre beginning July 13 and opening August 6.
