50 Sing for Hope Pianos Will Be Permanently Placed in New York City Schools

Sing for Hope today announced the 50 New York City public schools across the five boroughs chosen to receive Sing for Hope Pianos this fall. The placement of Sing for Hope Pianos in schools is in partnership with the New York City Department of Education and benefits an estimated 15,000 school children. The delivery, maintenance, and associated programming for each piano is estimated to cost $100,000 and the program has not yet been fully funded. (more...)

The new musical, based on a true story drawn from the letters of Captain Robert A. Ragan and his memoir Escape From East Tennessee to the Federal Lines, continues its development with the three performances which feature a cast of local artists who bring the various characters in the story to life. CATZILLA to Return to The Prop Thtr

The Prop Thtr has announced that Catzilla 5, A Cat Fest!, the annual cat-themed cabaret now in its fifth year, is to return to the Prop Thtr on August 25 and 26. An event celebrating all things feline, Catzilla spotlights performances by a wide array of variety performers. The show features dancers, circus acts, comedy, performance artists, musical acts, and one-acts starring real Cats. The event also features a cat kitsch give-a-way. Patrons may enjoy a bit of pre- and post-show shopping in the gallery potion of the venue, where cat-themed arts and crafts are to be offered for sale and auction. A portion of the all sales will be donated to Harmony House For Cats.
