WAR PAINT Cast Recording Available for Pre-Order; Receive Two Singles Today!

Ghostlight Records will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the new musical WAR PAINT – starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole – in digital formats on Friday, May 26. The CD version will be available online and in stores in mid-July. The musical, currently running at the Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street), played a sold-out run in Chicago last summer where it became the most successful show in Goodman Theatre's history. WAR PAINT is nominated for four 2017 Tony Awards, including “Best Actress in a Musical” for both of the leading ladies. Starting today, May 19, customers that pre-order the album via Apple Music will immediately receive the second single “If I'd Been A Man” – the stirring duet between LuPone and Ebersole – in addition to the previously available single “Back on Top.” (more...)

The Rolling Stones EXHIBITIONISM to Bring Iconic Sculptures to Chicago

The Rolling Stones exhibit, Exhibitionism, produced by iEC Exhibitions! and delivered by DHL, is partnering with Navy Pier, the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront and the Loews Chicago Hotel to bring 13 sculptures to Chicago beginning today. Cinquant'anni fa debuttava al Sistina l'opera beat di Tito Schipa jr. 'THEN AN ALLEY', considerata il primo esperimento al mondo di Opera Rock. La scelta del titolo (che si traduce 'E poi una strada') fu quasi profetica, perche quello fu il primo passo di un cammino che porto alla rifondazione del genere operistico attraverso spettacoli come 'Tommy', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Starmania', 'Notre-Dame de Paris' e tanti altri. Spettacoli anche molto diversi tra loro (opere rock, opere popolari, opere prog eccetera) accomunati pero da una drammaturgia che recupera quella del melodramma. Ci sarebbe quasi da commuoversi all'idea che un anniversario del genere cada a pochi giorni dal 450° compleanno di Monteverdi, uno dei padri fondatori del genere operistico classico, se non fosse per una cosa. The 25th Anniversary Performance of TONY N' TINA'S WEDDING

This June, one of Chicago's longest-running smash-hit shows, Tony n' Tina's Wedding, will celebrate 25 years as one of the windy city's most beloved theatrical institutions.  To honor the occasion, Chicago's favorite soon-to-be-married couple, Tony Nunzio and Tina Vitale, are welcoming back members of the original 1992 Chicago cast to the performance on Friday, June 16 at 8 p.m. Tony n' Tina's Wedding played an incredible 16 years during its original run in Chicago, and during that time entertained more than one million audience members of all ages. JONNY LANG Comes to Boulder Theater 9/9

Sixteen years ago, at the age of 16, Jonny Lang found incredible success with the release of his major label debut album Lie To Me.  Fame does not seem to have impacted him from being the same country farm boy from Fargo, ND who got his start in the local clubs of Minneapolis.  He survived the passage of youth to adulthood, fell in love, began a family, and in the process passed through the life lessons we all endure.  He has a keen sense of what he aims to achieve creatively, what music means to him, and is focused on the impact that his songs bring to the lives of those that encounter his repertoire.  For Lang, with the release of Fight For My Soul, he is entering a chapter wherein he has found his true voice. WICKED Ticket Lottery Announces at Shea's

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to Shea's Buffalo Theatre with performances from May 17 - June 4.  Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Shea's box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only.  This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person.  Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.  (more...)
