Summer Movies At Sarasota Opera House To Begin May 12, 2023

Sarasota Opera has announced the lineup for the 2023 Summer Classic Movies at the Opera House. The Classic Movies at the Opera House series featuring many beloved movies will open on Friday, May 12th at 7:30 pm with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Throughout the summer and into the fall, featured movies will include films ranging from the 1930's to the 1990's. Tickets will be $12 and will go on sale starting on Wednesday, May 3. A 23rd Season has been announced for this year's Shakespeare by the Sea Summer Festival tour. Starting seaside in San Pedro and then taking on over 15 additional locations, will be the hysterical, light-hearted Love's Labour's Lost as well as the heady, power-hungry tale of Richard III. This year's combination of shows is sure to delight and inspire, move and motivate. The 2020 shows this summer boast the solace of hilarity alongside meaningful reflection -- each production seasoned to perfection, each actor's performance rehearsed to its greatest potential. THE KING'S SPEECH Comes To Hartford Stage In March

Former Artistic Director Michael Wilson will return to Hartford Stage in March to direct the original play which inspired the Academy Award-winning film The King's Speech. Written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter David Seidler, the play tells the true story of King George VI, his speech therapist Lionel Logue, and a friendship that helped steer the course of history. The King's Speech will run Thursday, March 19, through Sunday, April 19.
