The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea explorer is a play which is set in the future. After global warming has completely taken its toll on the earth, Alvin Sputnik heads to the depths of the ocean to find a solution.

Having recently lost his wife, Alvin feels as though he has nothing left to live for, so he risks his life for the greater good.

A simple but wonderful story told through puppetry and beautiful animation. It took around 7 minutes of this show to have me completely invested in the wellbeing of a puppet.

Imaginative and completely original there is little need for dialogue. With excellent use of a score of both contemporary and original music, this one man show will appeal to both children and adults alike. The hour absolutely flew by and I'm pretty confident there wasn't a dry eye in the house by the end of it.

If you still need convincing to see this brilliant show, then let me add that it also features use of both a bubble machine and a disco ball. Magical.

Alvin Sputnik runs at the Underbelly until August 11th, timings and ticket info here.
