Sierra Stages has extended the run of "THE LAST FIVE YEARS" and added two performances on Friday May 13 at 8 PM and Saturday May 14 at 8 PM at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. All seats for both performances are only $15.

"THE LAST FIVE YEARS" by Jason Robert Brown is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about the ups and downs of a relationship and marriage between two 20-somethings over the course of five years in New York City. The show is directed by Susan Mason, with musical direction by Ken Getz, who conducts the 6-person band. The cast includes local actors Jonathan Hansard and Tinley Ireland.

"We originally scheduled only eight performances of "THE LAST FIVE YEARS" over two weekends because of various conflicts, but the show has been so well-received and the cast, band and crew have so enjoyed performing the show that we were able to figure out how to add two performances," said Sierra Stages board member Peter Mason.

"The lower ticket price of $15 is part of our mission to make live theatre a little more affordable and accessible to a broader audience," said Mason, adding "We hope that younger audiences who may have limited disposable income (and others for whom higher ticket prices might be a barrier) will check out this unique, thoughtful, brilliant, and entertaining musical as performed by our extraordinary local cast (Tinley Ireland and Jonathan Hansard) and our extraordinary local band (including, at various performances, Ken Getz, Steve Nicholson, Shawn Prudhomme, Ananda Vaughan, Tony Unger, Kristen Autry, Norma Sexton, Charlotte Reese, Alexandra Roedder, and David Speltz)."

Following "THE LAST FIVE YEARS", Sierra Stages presents "LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS" from July 14 through August 6 at the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City, and a quirky, contemporary comedy "DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE" from September 29 through October 16 at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley.

Sierra Stages is a tax-exempt nonprofit community theatre based in western Nevada County with a mission to provide quality productions that are affordable and accessible to everyone.
