Just last month, The Actors Fund presented the critically acclaimed, Tony Award®-nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, for a one-night only benefit reading. The evening starred Busch in the title role, originally played by Linda Lavin, and assembled the entire original all-star Broadway cast including Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Tony Roberts and Anil Kumar as well as original director Lynne Meadow. All proceeds benefit The Actors Fund.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the Actors Fund will bring back the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-nominated play The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch, for a one-night only benefit reading on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 7:30 pm at The Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th St.). The evening will star Charles Busch in the title role, originally played by Linda Lavin, and assembles the entire original all-star Broadway cast including Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Tony Roberts and Anil Kumar as well as original director Lynne Meadow. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.

We sat down with Busch for a fun and sparkly chat on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage.

Ring in the new year with the legendary Charles Busch. Actor/playwright/award-winning cabaret artist, Charles Busch (Die Mommie Die, Psycho Beach Party, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife), returns to Feinstein's/54 Below on December 31 for his third delightful New Year's Eve show with his dashing longtime musical director Tom Judson and special guests Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera, The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Andrea Burns (On Your Feet!, In the Heights), Peter Flynn (The Scarlet Pimpernel, Beauty and the Beast), and Ashley Austin Morris ("Murphy Brown," "The Good Wife"). Join them for a warm, outrageous, fun-filled early evening of music and storytelling.

Broadway and West End stars Tony Sheldon is currently starring in Priscilla Queen of the Desert in Australia. The actor stopped by to chat with Rev. Bill Crews for his radio show Sunday Night with Bill Crews. Sheldon talked about the show, its significance, and his own career thus far.

Tony nominee, Drama Desk Lifetime Achievement honoree and two-time MAC Award winner, Charles Busch, is about to return to Feinstein's 54 Below with a new show that gets to the essence of this legendary entertainer. Weaving tales of his Manhattan childhood and adolescence raised by his indomitable Aunt Lillian through the lens of the tumultuous decade of the 1960's, Charles will be singing a great songbook from Broadway to Pop, featuring the work of among others Burt Bacharach, Jimmy Webb, the Beatles, Henry Mancini, Bob Dylan, Stephen Sondheim and Kander and Ebb. Songs include Two for the Road, Anyone Who Had a Heart and The Times They Are A-Changin'.

All-star members of the Broadway community came together as Broadway for Orlando to perform 'What the World Needs Now Is Love,' on television for the first time on last night's MAYA AND MARTY on NBC

Broadway's top musical artists will appear on tonight's telecast of 'Maya & Marty' on NBC to perform 'What the World Needs Now Is Love,' an updated version of the classic Burt Bacharach/Hal David song that is helping to support the devastated LGBT community of Orlando, Fla. Broadway veteran and Taboo writer Boy George stopped by the GLAAD Media Awards earlier this month, where he confirmed in an interview with Mike Diamond that the show might be heading back to the stage. When asked about the odds of a revival, he commented: 'Very good. We've actually written a new script and we are in talks with people to do a new production. So yeah, it's something I want to happen.'
