Gregg Allman Sues MIDNIGHT RIDER Producers

The Gregg Allman biopic MIDNIGHT RIDER was forced to suspend production until June following the death of second camera assistant Sarah Jones in a train accident on-set on February 20. The project was scheduled to begin filming on February 28, 2014, and now the man at the center of the film, rocker Gregg Allman, is suing producers at Unclaimed Freight, saying the Formal Option Agreement with director Randall Miller's company expired when principal production did not begin on time. Warner Bros. Pictures has set a winter release date for 'Winter's Tale,' written and directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman ('A Beautiful Mind') and based on the novel by Mark Helprin. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, will open in North America on February 14, 2014, with international dates to follow.
