Oklahoma!, Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration, is a cornerstone of American theatre. According to The New York Times, it 'changed the course of the Broadway musical.' Groundbreaking in its day of conception, it continues to resonate with audiences of all ages for its timeless music, strong characters, and sharp humor.

Last night brought out the legendary Ben Vereen and Josh Radnor who joined the sold out crowd at the Tony Award winning revival of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" at Circle in the Square.

This beloved classic includes some of your favorite songs such as Oh What a Beautiful Mornin', Kansas City, I Can't Say No, and of course, the title song Oklahoma! Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant OKLAHOMA!

Following its successful run with Oliver! at The Mac in Belfast, North Belfast's Flax Trust Arts is returning to The Mac, from Wed 7-Sat 10 Aug, with its production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's' popular musical, Oklahoma!

The cast of OKLAHOMA! showed the 2019 Tony Awards their take on Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic when they performed 'I Cain't Say No/ Oklahoma' during Sunday night's broadcast. Oklahoma! is the first musical written by the team of composer Richard Rodgers and librettist Oscar Hammerstein II. The musical is based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs. Set in farm country outside the town of Claremore, Indian Territory, in 1906, it tells the story of farm girl Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors, cowboy Curly McLaine and the sinister and frightening farmhand Jud Fry. A secondary romance concerns cowboy Will Parker and his flirtatious fiancee, Ado Annie.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! has been visited by many stars this week. Seen in the audience and backstage were Rachel Bloom, Constance Wu, Patti LuPone, Beck Bennett, Samantha Bee, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jim Parsons and Carson Kressley.

Producer Eva Price announced today that the reimagined revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! will launch its North American tour at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the Fall of 2020. The 2020 tour will mark the first time a First Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in 40 years.

The Brooklyn Diner Times Square (155 West 43rd Street) honored Tony nominee Mary Testa, Aunt Eller in the hit Tony nominated revival of Oklahoma! by renaming their signature chili, 'Aunt Eller's Chili.'

Oklahoma native Kristin Chenowith took to the plains to see the hit Tony Award nominated "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" at Circle in the Square. After the show she joined fellow attendee Jesse Tyler Ferguson to congratulate the stars, Damon Daunno, Ali Stroker, James Davis and Will Brill.
