TCG Sets Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships 9th Round Recipients

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the ninth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country. (more...)

Here Lies Love, the smash hit off-Broadway musical at The Public Theater has announced that rush tickets are available for all performances. A limited number of $40 day-of-performance rush tickets will be available at The Public's Box Office (425 Lafayette Street, NYC) one hour before every performance. The Fall performance schedule is as follows: Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm, Fridays at 7 pm and 10:30 (the Late Night Disco!) and Saturdays at 5 pm and 9:30 pm. WAM (Women's Action Movement) Theatre is gearing up for its most ambitious and daring fall production: the New England premiere of Winter Miller's timely drama, In Darfur. Preparations come on the heels of WAM Theatre's enlightening fifth-season celebration, Change Makers, during which Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven announced that Mother of Peace Ilovo, an orphanage in South Africa, will be the beneficiary of WAM's 2014 philanthropic donation. In Darfur will run from October 30 - November 16 at the Berry Family Studio at Shakespeare & Company, where tickets are now available for purchase. Opening night is Saturday, November 1. (more...)

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for Marco Ramirez's ('Orange is the New Black,' 'Sons of Anarchy') wildly theatrical new play The Royale, directed by two-time Obie Award-winning and Drama Desk Award-nominated Rachel Chavkin. Founding Artistic Director of New York's the TEAM, Chavkin most recently won accolades for Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (The New York Times, Time Out New York, and New York Post Critics's Picks, and Top Ten of 2012 and 2013). Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director of the Drama Desk and OBIE Award-winning Mint Theater, today announced that the Mint's latest production: The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly, would extend performances through October 26th to accommodate audience demand even before it opens. Jesse Marchese directs a cast that features Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack.
