2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS is a love letter to classical music, the work it takes to dream of a life in music, and to the piano itself.  With two talented and entertaining performers, the show is funny, bittersweet, and music to your ears.  2 PIANOS, 4 HANDS is playing at North Coast Repertory Theatre through January 1, 2023.

Following previous announcements that the first two planned shows of the 22.23 season, Jani Lauzon's PROPHECY FOG and THE EFFECT by Lucy Prebble, have been rescheduled following the fire that broke out in the theatre at 1454 Danforth in early September, COAL MINE THEATRE is thrilled to confirm that they have secured a new location.

Live Arts Theater's 2022/23 Transformations Season journeys forward with the award-winning musical VIOLET. This soaring musical pilgrimage features music by Jeanine Tesori and lyrics and book by Brian Crawley. VIOLET will have 12 performances in the Gibson Theater, November 18 through December 10, 2022.

A new cast of virtuosic actor-pianists brings a Players Favorite back to the stage! Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt’s 2 Pianos 4 Hands returns after 8 years to charm audiences once again. The show features the new team of Jefferson McDonald and Matthew McGloin in the roles of Ted and Richard, under the direction of Players’ Artistic Director Tom Frey.

Richard Greenblatt and Ted Dykstra are two accomplished pianists who also happen to be pretty darn funny. Together they've created a musical comedic romp, 2 Pianos 4 Hands (2P4H) playing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, an ode to their lifelong obsession with the 88 keys. If you've ever endured a music lesson as a child, the flashbacks experienced here are all too real.

Due to reasons beyond her control, Tommie-Amber Pirie will no longer be appearing in  the Coal Mine's production of DETROIT. Louise Lambert will be taking over the role of Sharon. Because of this change, previews will be moved to July 8th and 9th and Opening Night will be on July 10th.

Following a universally acclaimed return to in-person theatre with the just closed run of Annie Baker's THE ANTIPODES, Coal Mine Theatre is proud to announce casting for the Toronto premiere of the award-winning DETROIT by Lisa D'Amour. With direction by Jill Harper, this production concludes the company's exciting seventh season and runs in-person from July 3rd to August 7th (Opening July 6th) at its Danforth Theatre.

David Mirvish will present an exclusive 25th Anniversary production of 2 Pianos 4 Hands, starring the show's creators and original stars, Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt. 2 Pianos 4 Hands will play June 4 to July 17 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, where it had its first major production in 1998 after its brilliant premiere at the Tarragon Theatre.

Coal Mine Theatre, Toronto's acclaimed off-off-Broadway stage, makes its long-awaited return with the Canadian premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker's THE ANTIPODES. Directed by company Co-Chief Engineer Ted Dykstra, the production opens the seventh season for the award-winning company and will run in-person from April 3rd to May 15th (Media Night: April 6th) at its beloved Danforth Theatre. 

 In the last two years, only a handful of shows have been on the stages of the Mirvish theatres under very restrictive conditions. But this spring holds the most promising opportunity for theatre to truly return to our city, albeit with safety protocols in place.

The Mirvish theatre season is changing due to unforeseen developments in this pandemic. After consulting with our team of doctors, they are moving some of their shows from this winter into the spring, when the current situation is expected to be resolved and it will be safe again to enjoy live theatre performances.

David van Belle's jubilant adaptation returns for its highly-anticipated third season.

Last year, during the pandemic, The Citadel released its production of A Christmas Carol as a film available for streaming, and now the company is thrilled to welcome back audiences to experience the production in-person on the Maclab stage. Ebenzer Scrooge is transported, on the longest night of his life, by the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future on a journey to help him realize the true meaning of the holiday.
