The School of Theatre at Florida State kicks off its 2016-17 season with Seminar by Theresa Rebeck. Seminar focuses on four young, aspiring novelists who sign up for a private writing seminar, thinking they will be getting sage advice regarding their work. Instead, their lessons are more personal in nature and touch on every aspect of their lives. "THRIVE: A Singular Journey to Survivor Island", Duvall O'Steen's one woman show directed by Obie Award winner and Grammy nominee Gretchen Cryer, is back home in New York City at the United Solo Festival: Monday, October 3rd at 9pm and Saturday, October 8th at 2pm in the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), in commemoration of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). A befitting theme for BCAM, THRIVE offers an intimate opportunity to crawl inside the heart and mind of a breast cancer warrior.  With humor and grace, the performance reveals the Do's and Don'ts of loved ones attempting to share the struggle in a little over an hour.
