Review: RUBABOO Delights Audiences at Edmonton's Citadel Theatre
by Sarah Dussome - Feb 20, 2024

This 95-minute production is a whimsical blend of music and storytelling. There’s nothing more comforting than a home-cooked meal. In this case, it’s a rubaboo- a hearty stew simmering over a glowing campfire. The founder of the feast is Andrea Menard, a Métis singer-songwriter hailing from Flin Flon, Manitoba (Treaty 1 Territory). Her colourful cabaret, Rubaboo (the Michif word for “leftover stew”), is a whimsical, 95-minute musical feast steeped in storytelling, dance, and culture.

by Susan Guntly - Jan 31, 2024

What did our critic think of COME FROM AWAY at Century II Concert Hall? A Tuesday morning in September, a transatlantic flight from Paris to Dallas is unexpectedly rerouted, and the passengers aren’t told where they are landing. Parked on the tarmac for hours, the mini liquor bottles are exhausted, all the in-flight films are watched, and passengers are itchy to breathe fresh air, stretch their legs, and to know, what is going on?
