The stage directions that introduce Katori Hall's The Mountaintop are simple – but their import is weighty. Hall's play imagines the last night of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life. He's just delivered one of his most lauded speeches, 'I've Been to the Mountaintop', and is struggling to write his next, when there's a knock at the door; his encounter with a mysterious woman, sent to deliver him coffee, sends his world into a tailspin.

Just recently, I had the pleasure of interviewing editor Eric Litman about his newest series, The Hot Zone: Anthrax. Litman is best known for his work for Marvel on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Black Sails, Magnum P.I., and Charmed. Currently Eric is an editor on Star Trek: Picard, a continuation of the series Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The releases will include bonus features, featuring Ridley Scott discussing how he approached directing the new film, Lady Gaga discussing her performance, and the film's costume designers discussing the fashion in the film. House of Gucci also stars Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, and Reeve Carney.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival has been cancelled due to concerns regarding COVID-19. The festival was set to feature 129 films, including a highly-anticipated Dionne Warwick documentary. The festival's annual gala was also cancelled, with Andrew Garfield, Lady Gaga, and Nicole Kidman originally scheduled to receive honors.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announced the Januscary Film Festival at the Harris Theater, six classic and new horror films come to the historic theater throughout the first week of January. Januscary kicks off with a FREE screening of John Carpenter's, The Thing on Saturday, January 1 at 8:00 p.m, a free ticket is required for entry.

Submissions for the 58th Annual Cinema Audio Society Awards are now open. All entries must be received by 5 p.m. PT on Dec. 21, 2021. Additionally, the application deadline for the 2021 CAS Student Recognition Award has been extended to 5 p.m. PT on Nov. 19, 2021.
