Here's our calendar for December 3, 2018, to help you plot your course through the beginning of a new year...

But in the rarefied world of make-believe and magic aka musical theater, in which comedy and tragedy are equally celebrated and where a memorable song can lift one's spirits soaring toward the heavens, a princess means so much more: The princess of musical theater legend and lore is able to transform from a poor orphan who has found herself tempest tossed throughout her difficult life into a woman of great stature and regal deportment, she can express herself with such artistry and majesty that all those around her may feel the impact of her actions, their dreary lives brightened by her very existence.

Abingdon Theatre Company held their special one-night-only gala event on Monday, October 22 at The Edison Ballroom. The evening, honoring two-time Tony Award winner Donna Murphy (Hello, Dolly!; Passion; Wonderful Town), was hosted by Randy Rainbow.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series recently welcomed the return of award winning songwriter Scott Alan on Monday, September 24. The concert was a celebration of Alan's newest album 'Lifeline.'

Broadway's Marty Thomas (Xanadu, Wicked, The Secret Garden) debuted his new cabaret show, 'Like It's Golden' in the Green Room 42 on Monday night.

From Broadway (Xanadu, Wicked, Secret Garden) to Hollywood (Grace & Frankie, Two Broke Girls) and around the NY nightlife circuit (Marty Thomas Presents Diva, 2008 Mister Broadway award), Grammy-nominated Marty Thomas is a discoball of performing talent. He returns to the Green Room 42 with his new show "Like It's Golden", a flashy musical journey straight from Marty's personal jukebox, offering songs ranging from blues, to funk, and dazzling pop.

Independent Recording Artist Matt Bloyd has recorded and released a video of songwriter Scott Alan's hit song Kiss the Air featuring the composer on keys. Watch the music video below!

On The Spot, an 'always new' musical comedy show, premieres Sunday September 2, 2018 at THE GREEN ROOM 42 at 9:30PM.  Running Off-Broadway every week since 2015, the show is thrilled to make its debut at New York's most exciting new performance destination. 

On Monday, July 23rd, Feinstein's/54 Below was painted pink, as the ladies of MTV's Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods reunited for the first time to celebrate the show's 10 year anniversary. The evening was pure perfection and boasted songs from Legally Blonde, surprise special guests and lots of Bend & Snap! Take a peek at all the action below!

Next month, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

The North Charleston POPS! concert series will host a "Select Your Seat" open house party on Monday, June 18 from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Music fans are invited to come out and "select their seats" for the 2018-2019 season. The party features music, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a wine tasting and backstage tours. Season ticket packages start at just $90.

The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2018 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues. The schedule includes Gina Bachauer Piano Competition Finals on June 22 and 23 at 7 PM at Abravanel Hall, Gallivan Center on Monday June 25, Disney in Concert: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" on June 27 and 28 at Abravanel Hall, the Utah Symphony at Snowbasin Resort on June 29 and August 7, the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving Point on July 2, the Utah Symphony at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 3, and Jenny Oaks Baker with the Utah Symphony on August 1 at Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre. Ticketing information is posted with each concert. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. Tickets for the other performances are on sale now with ticketing information available at www.utahsymphony.org.

Utah Symphony | Utah Opera today announced its lineup for the 2018 Deer Valley Music Festival in addition to its plans to celebrate its 15th year of calling Park City, Utah its summer home. Highlights of the six-week, 17-concert music festival, which begins on June 30, 2018 and runs through August 11, 2018, include Utah Symphony performances with Emmy and Tony Award-winning Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth, folk-rock singer-songwriter Amos Lee, 14-time Grammy Award-winner Ricky Skaggs, and Grammy Award-winner Rick Springfield; music of John Williams with scores from some of Hollywood's biggest blockbuster movies; Broadway vocalists and show tunes honoring Andrew Lloyd Webber and Stephen Sondheim musicals; tributes to Swedish pop sensation ABBA, Pink Floyd and the music of the 1970s and '80s; Disney in Concert "A Silly Symphony Celebration" with scenes from some of Disney's earliest colorful cartoons playing on giant screens; and the perennial favorite, "1812 Overture" with live cannon fire on the hillside provided by Cannoneers of the Wasatch.

Ernie Nolan, executive artistic director of Nashville Children's Theatre, and Norma Luther, who took over ownership of Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre and spearheaded its renaissance in 2017, last night claimed top honors as "Theaterati of the Year" at Midwinter's First Night at Music Valley Event Center.

The 2008 MTV series was famously designed to pick the replacement for Tony-nominated leading lady Laura Bell Bundy in the 2006 Broadway musical, based on the film of the same title.
