Last night, Tony Award winner André De Shields played his final performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre in Hadestown, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical. The emotional evening culminated in New York City Mayor Eric Adams coming on stage at the end of the show and proclaiming May 29, 'André De Shields Day.'

The Belgrade Theatre has announced that Midlands writer Frankie Meredith’s May Queen, which premiered last summer as part of Paines Plough’s Roundabout Season, will be re-staged in-the-round in B2 from Sat 25 June – Sat 2 July.

East West Players has announced casting for the rolling world premiere of INTERSTATE, an Asian-American pop-rock poetry musical that follows Dash, a transgender spoken word performer who becomes internet-famous along with his best friend Adrian, a lesbian singer-songwriter.

The Muny announced today that Laila Fantroy and Gabe Cytron will star as Jane and Michael Banks in the high-flying production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, July 5-13, 2022. Fantroy is a rising eighth grader at Christ the King Catholic School and Cytron is a rising ninth grader at Parkway High School. Both actors are part of the Muny Kids program. Mary Poppins is directed by John Tartaglia, choreographed by Patrick O’Neill, with music direction by Brad Haak.
