These historic recordings, reissued as the world celebrates the 100th anniversary of Parker's birth, feature such jazz greats as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, John Lewis, Bud Powell and Max Roach. 'Ko-Ko' was one of Bird's early masterpieces and his first recording as a leader. New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of educating and inspiring young musicians through its Orchestra, Jazz, Chamber Music, Composition, Musical Theater Composition, Apprenticeship Conducting, and First Music commissioning programs. This season includes seven world premieres of new works commissioned through the First Music program, composed for the Orchestra, Jazz, and Chamber Music ensembles. On Saturday, August 3, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with the Valerie Capers Quartet featuring Capers an accomplished performer, educator and composer and her band. Joining Capers will be John Robinson on bass, Alan Givens on saxophone and flute and Doug Richardson on drums. The band will perform two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm at WCT, 23 Water Street in Ossining.

State Theatre New Jersey will host its 2019 Benefit Gala on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Featuring an intimate performance by Tony and Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and pianistBill Charlap, this year's Gala will transport attendees to the dazzling and decadent world of the Roaring Twenties.
