HBO Max announced today an overall deal with Marlon Wayans, which includes a number of projects in the works from the multi-hyphenate star.

ABC has announced that John Legend, father of two and EGOT winner, will host a one-hour variety special, 'John Legend and Family: A Bigger Love Father's Day,' on Sunday, June 21 at 8:00p.m. ET!

Kenan Thompson, Billy Crystal, Tiffany Haddish and Byron Allen will serve as co-hosts for the two-hour comedy special “Feeding America Comedy Festival” on Sunday, May 10 from 7-9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

NBC is teaming with Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios and Funny Or Die for the two-hour comedy special a?oeFeeding America Comedy Festivala?? on Sunday, May 10 from 7-9 p.m. ET/PT. The all-star event will feature a plethora of today's biggest comedy superstars to support and raise money for America's largest hunger-relief organization, Feeding America.

Netflix Is A Joke, Netflix's comedy brand, is throwing a week-long comedy festival, Netflix Is A Joke Fest. Produced by Netflix in association with Live Nation, the star-studded celebration of comedy will take over Los Angeles April 27th - May 3rd and feature live stand-up shows, special events and activations with Netflix comedians and artists from around the world. Featured Netflix talent include Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, Jamie Foxx, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, Kevin Hart, Martin Lawrence, Sebastian Maniscalco, the cast of Schitt's Creek and more. The fest will also include STAND OUT: An LGBTQ+ Celebration  with headliners Alan Carr, Hannah Gadsby, Margaret Cho, Rosie O'Donnell, Sandra Bernhard, Wanda Sykes and more.

IFC announced today that the Critics' Choice Award-nominated Sherman's Showcase will return with a one-hour “Black History Month Spectacular” this summer (yes, you read that right). Created by and starring Bashir Salahuddin (Top Gun: Maverick, South Side) and Diallo Riddle (Marlon, South Side), and executive produced by John Legend's Get Lifted Film Co. and RadicalMedia, the witty, irreverent and wholly original Sherman's Showcase “Black History Month Spectacular” will feature more of the sketches, A-list guest stars, and original hit, award-winning songs that, all together, earned the series a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and inclusion on numerous 'Best of 2019' lists.

A Soldier's Play officially opened on Broadway on January 21 for a limited engagement at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street).

Created by Emmy-nominated writers Diallo Riddle (Marlon, Rise) and Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW, Snatched) and executive produced by John Legend, Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius at Get Lifted Film Co. & Frank Scherma and Jim Bouvet of RadicalMedia, the series currently boasts a very impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.  

MGM and Bron Studios have announced the final casting for the upcoming Aretha Franklin biopic Respect, starring Jennifer Hudson, according to Deadline.

Bristol Riverside Theatre will kick off its 33rd Season by putting God centerstage in the sinfully funny An Act of God by 13-time Emmy winner David Javerbaum. Seated at the staircase to Heaven, audiences will find national TV, film and comedy star Kim Wayans. The In Living Color alum, and a member of the famous Wayans family, will rule the universe in a new comedy penned by former The Daily Show with Jon Stewart writer Javerbaum. The play, which was a smash hit on Broadway, was based on Javerbaum's Twitter persona @TheTweetofGod, which now boasts six million followers. An Act of God is directed by BRT Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson. The show will run for 28 performances, from September 17 to October 13, 2019, with the press opening on Thursday, September 19 at 7:30pm. All performances are at Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bucks County, located at 120 Radcliffe Street. “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has won the late-night ratings week of Aug. 12-16 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and all other key demographics (including a tie in men 18-34) versus “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

SEXTUPLETS is a comedy film from “White Chicks” and “Naked” producers Marlon Wayans and Rick Alvarez, plus producer Nathan Reimann (“Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo”) and director Michael Tiddes ('A Haunted House,' 'Naked').

IFC announced today that the network has partnered with Mad Decent to drop the official soundtrack for its upcoming variety sketch series Sherman's Showcase, premiering Wednesday, July 31st at 10pm ET/PT. Sherman's Showcase (Original Soundtrack), featuring full-length versions of the songs from the series, is set for digital release on August 9 via Mad Decent, the  Los Angeles-based record label founded by Thomas Wesley Pentz, better known as Diplo. The soundtrack will also be available on vinyl later this summer.
