Colorado Ballet's Board of Trustees renewed Artistic Director Gil Boggs's contract for an additional five years. Boggs accepted the position of Artistic Director with Colorado Ballet in the spring of 2006. In recent weeks the cast and creative team of the new musical Queen Mother, which chronicles the life of Hannah Hill, Charlie Chaplin's troubled mother, have been in residence on the Goodspeed Musicals campus in East Haddam, Conn. The team assembled to develop this engaging piece in preparation for upcoming invite-only industry workshops at New York Live Arts on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1, 2014. Broadway's Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast) and Katie Klaus (The Bridges of Madison County, Bonnie and Clyde) lead the cast. (more...)

Family dynamics can be the source of endless comedic material, as is the case in the 2nd play of the CSC Women Playwrights Series, "In the Car with Blossom and Len" by Joni Fritz, which will be presented on Wednesday, Apr 23 at 7:30 PM in the Lackland Center in Hackettstown. In this funny and poignant new play, a basket full of unpaid bills for chemical engineer Lenny Gold's laboratory is discovered one of his adult daughters, unveiling a lifetime of secrets, a mysterious silent partner, and a few other challenges which must be met by this family. Principal Dancer Kaori Nakamura Will Retire From Pacific Northwest Ballet at End of Season

Pacific Northwest Ballet Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced that after a 17-year career with the Company, principal dancer Kaori Nakamura will retire from performing at the end of PNB's 2013-2014 season. Ms. Nakamura joined PNB as a soloist in 1997 and was promoted to principal in 1998. Following her retirement, Ms. Nakamura will be joining the faculty of PNB School. (more...)
