Interview: Nadia Verrucci of AT THE BEGINNING OF TIME at Centaur Theatre
by Noelle Hannibal
- Feb 16, 2023
Nadia Verrucci is a staple of the Montreal theatre scene. She has worked as an actor, singer, director, choreographer, voiceover artist, particularly as Juno in Assassins Creed which makes her a popular guest at Comic Cons and pop culture events, and Artistic Director. I had the chance to chat with her as she prepares to co-star in Steve Galluccio’s AT THE BEGINNING OF TIME at the Centaur Theatre.
Review: You Are in Fine Company with JENNIFER SIMARD: CAN I GET YOUR NUMBER? at 54 Below
by Cary Wong
- Jan 26, 2023
Simard's concept for the show, which she performed twice at 54 Below, was that she has mostly played second banana to many of her musical theater idols on stage, so Simard would honor that star with a song they are known for. It's a fun idea, brilliantly executed by Simard and her musical director and accompanist Steve Marzullo.
Judy Collins Will Tour In March 2023
by Michael Major
- Jan 5, 2023
It’s been over a decade since JUDY COLLINS toured Australia – but she returns for two very special shows. The award-winning album features Judy’s stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now”, as well as songs by Leonard Cohen, Jacques Brel, another Joni Mitchell standard, “Michael From The Mountain”, and songs written by Judy herself.
Review: LISA VIGGIANO SINGS THE JANE OLIVOR SONGBOOK is a Heartfelt Tribute at Laurie Beechman Theatre
by Ricky Pope
- Oct 14, 2022
What Lisa Viggiano has as a performer that was not apparent in Jane Olivor’s work is a wry and ironic sense of humor. When Viggiano allows her spirit to come front and center, the show she has created with director Mark Nadler really flies. However, for much of the performance, it feels as if Ms. Viggiano is attempting to constrain her own ebullient personality into the earnest, serious personality of Jane Olivor. I left the show wanting less Jane Olivor and more Lisa Viggiano. In short, Jane is cramping Lisa’s style.
