The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, presented by TD Bank Group in collaboration with Rio Tinto, continues to evolve to the beat of the music it showcases.

The Palace Theater will bring music icon Herbie Hancock to Waterbury on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 7:30 PM.  Hancock, a legendary pianist and composer, is a Kennedy Center honoree, Academy Award winner, and winner of 14 Grammy awards. This concert is part of the ION Bank Concert series.

The complete cast has been announced for the new edition of Songbook Live, The Women Who Wrote the Songs, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 7:30 and Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 2:30 at Lakeshore Players Theatre,  Hanifl Performing Arts Center, White Bear Lake, MN

The lineup also includes bounce legend Big Freedia, musical polyglots Thundercat, DJ Pee .Wee (aka Anderson .Paak), Big Gigantic and Alfa Mist, as well as songwriters Cautious Clay, Durand Jones and The War & Treaty. Special ensembles include Newport Jazz artistic director Christian McBride’s annual Jam Jawn, MoodSwing, Scary Goldings, and more.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced jazz programming running March 20 through April 2.

Repeat engagements include David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band, Frank Vignola's Guitar Night, Birdland Big Band and Arturo O'Farrill & The Latin Jazz Orchestra.

Musical artists will join the national library and American leaders to honor music legend Joni Mitchell. The lineup will include performances by James Taylor, Brandi Carlile, Annie Lennox, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Marcus Mumford, Graham Nash, Diana Krall and Angelique Kidjo. The concert is by invitation only.

Miller Theatre at Columbia University School of the Arts continues its 2022-23 Jazz series with the Sean Jones Quartet. The trumpeter/bandleader makes his Miller debut performing originals and standards.

Platinum-selling jazz superstar Chris Botti is returning to Las Vegas for a performance at the Grand Events Center at Green Valley Ranch Resort on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $42.50 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at 10 a.m.

The 12-track LP features an ensemble of friends in addition to Herbie (piano) and Dave (double bass) including Marcus Miller (bass), Nguyên Lê (guitar), Rakesh Chaurasia (flute), Adriano Dos Santos Tenori (percussion), Vinnie Colaiuta (drums) and Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet) who Dhafer first invited to be on the record before composing the music.

The Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, New York, welcomes The Headhunters. The legendary jazz band originally formed by Herbie Hancock will perform at the Brooklyn Bowl on Thursday, February 9th, at 8 pm.

Karen Kennedy, Founding President of 24/Seven Artist Development, has been elected as President of North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents.

Percussion icon and Prince collaborator Sheila E will play 2 shows at City Winery at 6pm and 9:30pm on Friday, February 10.  Playing with “A band that can go wherever we need to, whatever genre. New Orleans grooves, jazz, funk, or pop songs,” Sheila E's performance will include both her classics and new works.  

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater has announced programming running January 16 through January 29. Performers appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include Stacey Kent, Billy Hart Quartet, Adam Birnbaum Quartet, Scott Robinson's Octet and Tony Kadleck.

Jack Kleinsinger, the founder and producer of the highly regarded landmark jazz series, has put together an exciting, generation-crossing all-star concert lineup to mark the occasion. 

Reykjavik’s Eldborg Hall at Harpa is the perfect venue for Pavement’s inaugural Iceland performances.
