Feinstein's/54 Below announced today their September line-up in its streaming series featuring Mean Girls and Clueless star Zurin Villanueva, Jasper in Deadland composer Ryan Scott Oliver, Tony Award® winner Beth Leavel, and My Fair Lady and Oklahoma! star Melissa Errico.

The upcoming Broadway-bound musical stage adaptation of The Karate Kid has set its world premiere dates! The musical will premiere at STAGES St. Louis as part of their 2022 season, before bowing on Broadway.

Sometimes theatre shows don’t work out. Some can feel like watching a train wreck in slow motion, and others build a brick wall without any mortar to keep the pieces together. It takes nothing, maybe a slight push for the latter to disintegrate. I Could Use a Drink is a mix of both under director Alex Conder.

The New Musicals Lab (NML) at the Ferguson Center for the Performing Arts at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, is making space for new musical works by providing Artist Residencies with access to world-class facilities, funding, and student and Broadway talent.

'I Could Use A Drink, an eclectic mix of poignant, hilarious, and progressive contemporary musical theatre, celebrating the chaos and beauty of youth, was created as a US studio album using Broadway's freshest and most exciting new talents. Now for its UK West End stage  premiere, producers Liam Gartland and Alex Conder reimagine its cutting edge musical theatre songs with some of the West End's stars of present and the future.

On Monday July 26th at 6PM ET, Broadway Records will host a virtual listening party for I COULD USE A DRINK: THE SONGS OF DREW GASPARINI, in celebration of show's upcoming run in London this summer.

As BroadwayWorld first reported last year,  a musical version of The Karate Kid has been in development, and today, we finally we have a better idea of when to expect the new musical. According to an Equity casting notice, the show will hold work sessions this Fall, with a pre- Broadway out-of-town tryout set for Spring 2022.
