Stew and Heidi Rodewald's FAMILY ALBUM Opens at OSF, 7/1-8/31

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open the world premiere of Family Album, with book and lyrics by Stew, music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, created with and directed by Joanna Settle. The opening performance is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5 in the Thomas Theatre; previews are July 1, 3 and 4. Family Album was commissioned by OSF with support from the Edgerton Foundation. Steppenwolf Sets First Look 2014 Lineup; Runs 7/26-8/24

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the line-up for the ninth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 26 - August 24, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2014 includes: Ironbound by Martyna Majok, Hushabye by Tanya Saracho and Okay, Bye by Joshua Conkel. The 2014 festival also features readings of two new plays, American Beauty Shop by Dana Lynn Formby and Opium Den by Julie Marie Myatt. Sherman Chamber Ensemble to Offer Free Bluegrass Concerts Next Weekend

The Sherman Chamber Ensemble's summer season continues Labor Day weekend with the annual SCE Bluegrass & Beyond! performances on Saturday, August 31st at 2:00 PM at the Lake Mauweehoo Clubhouse on Leach Hollow Road in Sherman, CT and on Sunday, September 1st at 1 PM at the Kent Village Barns in downtown Kent, CT. The Kent performance will take place outside on the lawn, and concertgoers should bring their own chairs or blankets. Mortar Theatre Company will present the world premiere of Seek and Ye Shall Findwritten and performed by Sentell Harper**. The one-man show, directed by Stephanie Stroud*, is performed at the Apollo Theater Studio, 2540 N. Lincoln Avenue, May 6 - June 8. Opening/Press night is Monday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. The performances run on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. There will be no performances on Sunday May 26 and Monday 27 in observance of Memorial Day weekend. Instead, there will be a 7:30pm performance on Tuesday May 28. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 29.
