Cold Showers have unveiled their new single and video 'Shine' today. Director Travis Waddell describes, ''Shine's' textures are a reverent nod to MTV-era music video etherea. The 16mm footage shot between Bolinas and Point Reyes backdrops Nicola Collie's movements, a performance so immersive she nearly threw her neck out.' FLOOD debuted the video who call it, 'brighter...sounds more derivative of Spiritualized than any new wave influence they've ever toted.' Read more here.
Cold Showers Announce New Album 'Motionless'

Today, LA's Cold Showers return with their most expressive and decisive record yet, Motionless, which sees its release on Dais Records, May 24th. They've shared a video for the album's lead, heavy-hearted single, 'Faith'. Inspired by the intimacy and voyeurism of Warhol's screen tests, Cold Showers joined with director Chris Slater to deliver a visual companion to the song and its sentiments in full color and closeness -- a mirror image of who we are, for those who cannot see, and a reminder to those who can.

Written by renowned playwright Horton Foote, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL is a moving story of family, reminiscing on things that once were, and longing for home. For Carrie Watts, her home is in Bountiful not in a cramped apartment in Houston where she lives with her son and daughter-in-law. As the play progresses, the idea of home is questioned as the characters discover home might mean something a little different than what they once thought.

Thirty-three nonfiction works from seventeen countries comprise the latest Sundance Institute Documentary Fund and Stories of Change Grantees, announced today. 81% of the supported projects have at least one woman producer or director; 48% originate from outside the US.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.

Deidrie Henry returns to The Armory to star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Lanie Robertson's riveting portrait of Holiday's life told through an imagined final performance in a small bar in South Philadelphia in 1959. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Bill Fennelly returns to The Armory to direct after previously directing Gypsy, Black Pearl Sings and, most recently, Little Shop of Horrors. Deidrie Henry, who most recently played Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Armory, will be joined on stage by Abdul Hamid Royal, the production's music director who also plays the role of Jimmy Powers, along with local musicians Charles Neal (drums) and Andre St. James (bass).
