According to a recent post by the A.R.T. the show already has plans for Broadway! The theatre auctioned off tickets to the show's opening night on Broadway as a part of its 2015 gala, teasing: 'See it in Cambridge before it heads to NYC!' Casting has not yet been announced, but a recent NYC workshop was led by Tony winner Jessie Mueller, Keala Settle, Bryce Pinkham, Christopher Fitzgerald, Barrett Wilbert Weed, and Eric Anderson. THE LAST SHIP played its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24, but fans still have another chance to catch the cast in action. Tonight, March 2 (9:30PM), they will reunite at 54 Below for 'Songs in the Quay of Life: THE LAST SHIP Company in Concert.' The original cast and band will celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. Proceeds will go to support Wallsend Boys Club in the north of England, which was founded by shipbuilders. (more...)

Cast Members from the Broadway musical IF/THEN will perform the songs of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey on Monday, March 2 at 54 Below (254 West 54th street). There will be two performances - 7:00pm (sold out) and a special added 11:30pm (tickets available). The one-night only concerts were originally scheduled for Monday, January 26th, but were re-scheduled due to winter storm Juno. (more...)

Ryann first broke onto the scene as Bridget in the Tony- nominated Bring It On the Musical, for which she received abundant critical acclaim. Stephen Brown of New York Magazine raved, 'As for show-stealers, well, it's a talent melee: Ryann Redmond slays us as Bridget, a nerdy, big-boned laugh-track of a cheer-wannabe who ends up with her own storyline.' Buzz Theatre Productions will present 'Next to Normal' for its inaugural production. Performances will take place on Friday, March 6th and Saturday, March 7th at 8pm at Old Paramus Reformed Church (660 E. Glen Avenue) in Ridgewood, NJ. The rock and roll musical, which features book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, deals with a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness and the attempts to alleviate it have on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life. (more...)

According to an Equity casting notice, Disney Theatrical Productions will soon hold a developmental lab for a musical version of Freaky Friday. Christopher Ashley will helm the project, which will feature music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (If/Then, Next to Normal) and a book by Bridget Carpenter. Just days after we revealed that IF/THEN was set for the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles from December 8, 2015 to January 3, 2016, we can now report that it's official -- the show is going on tour! This morning, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts announced that the National Tour of IF/THEN, will launch in Denver in October 2015. Performances at The Buell Theatre begin October 13 and run through October 25. IF/THEN is part of the 2015/2016 Broadway season. (more...)

THE LAST SHIP just played its final performance on Broadway on January 24 at theNeil Simon Theatre (where it has played 29 preview performances and 105 regular performances). On December 9, 2014, Sting, who composed The Last Ship's score, joined the cast in the role of Jackie White, the foreman of the shipyard who rallies his community to build one last ship meant to sail the world.
