Amy Hall Garner and Omar Román De Jesús were selected by Artistic Director Michael Novak to choreograph through the Taylor Company Commissions program, to be premiered during fall 2022.

Through Reframing the Narrative, June 14–19 with seven performances on the Opera House stage, the weeklong programming highlights and recognizes the extensive contribution of Black voices in ballet.

Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, today announced the Joffrey’s 2022–2023 Season at Lyric Opera House, featuring a world premiere from a rising choreographic star, a revival from a Joffrey icon, the return of a Joffrey blockbuster, and a full-length story ballet of such grand scale that it is rarely seen in the United States.

Yale Repertory Theatre will present a new production of Choir Boy by the theater’s Academy Award-winning Playwright in Residence Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight), directed by Christopher D. Betts. Choir Boy will be performed March 31–April 23 at the University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is Thursday, April 7.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago has announced its 2021/22 44th season Spring Series: RE/CONNECT. The dance company will premiere two programs that will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art (220 E. Chicago Ave) March 2-13.

Alabama-born choreographer Amy Hall Garner is a graduate of Juilliard and has created commissioned works for Ailey II, the Juilliard School and Barnard College, among others. Over the course of her fellowship, she is exploring the ephemerality of flowers in their natural and abstract forms for a production that brings together music, dance, and art with collaborator Jared Small.
