Gloria Estefan Will Host Kennedy Center Honors

Multi-Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and actress Gloria Estefan will host the 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors, on Sunday, December 2, 2018. The Honors Gala will be recorded for broadcast on the CBS Television Network for the 41st year as a two-hour primetime special on Wednesday, December 26 (8:00-10:00 pm., ET/PT). This will be Estefan's first time hosting the special. She received a Kennedy Center Honors in 2017.

As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, the cast of HAMILTON's three-week long engagement in Puerto Rico will launch a third national tour of the musical phenomenon. The show's creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda will play the title character in Puerto Rico, with Julius Thomas III (The Scottsboro Boys, Motown the Musical) taking over at the tour's next stop in San Francisco. Donald Webber Jr. (Motown the Musical, Holler if Ya Hear Me) will play Hamilton's nemesis, the formidable Aaron Burr.

Producer Jeffrey Seller and the Peace Center announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (December 4) in Greenville at the Peace Center. Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, December 2 for tickets to the Tuesday, December 4 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.

KENNEDY Center for the Performing Arts will present the 2018 KENNEDY CENTER HONORS for lifetime artistic achievements on December 2, and the event will be held with an empty Presidential box for the second year in a row. Dear Evan Hansen producer Stacey Mindich has just announced today that Andrew Barth Feldman, the 16-year-old winner of the Best Actor Award at the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (known more commonly as the Jimmy Awards), will make his Broadway debut as 'Evan Hansen' on January 30, 2019. Feldman - who is currently a high school junior at Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, New York - takes over the role from Taylor Trensch, who plays his final performance on January 27, 2019 after a year in the title role. Original Broadway cast member Michael Lee Brown will continue his run as the 'Evan' alternate.

Single tickets for HAMILTON will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 16 at 9 a.m. (ET).  Guests are encouraged to purchase online at drphillipscenter.org. Tickets also may be purchased in person at the Dr. Phillips Center. Tickets will be available for performances January 22 - February 10, 2019.
