Producer Jeffrey Seller and the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center announce today that single tickets for HAMILTON will go on-sale to the public on Wednesday, August 1 8:00 AM at tix.carolinatix.org and at the Belk Theater Box Office (130 N. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of four Honorees who will receive the 2018 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements, and a special Honors distinction for a work of art and its co-creators. Recipients to be honored at the 41st annual national celebration of the arts are: singer and actress Cher, composer and pianist Philip Glass, Country music entertainer Reba McEntire, and jazz saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter. This year, the co-creators of Hamilton-writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire-will receive a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a bidding war is underway for the rights to a big screen version of the Broadway hit. The movie would be a filmed, onstage version of the musical that was recorded in 2016, featuring creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the title role, as well as other original cast members.

The story goes that while on vacation from performing in his hit Broadway show 'In the Heights,' Lin-Manuel Miranda read a copy of the biography, 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow.

Broadway veteran Lisa Brescia will join the company of the Tony Award-winning musical as 'Heidi Hansen,' marking her return to Broadway after more than a decade. Brescia begins performances on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 succeeding Rachel Bay Jones, who plays her final performance on August 5, 2018.

Producer Jeffrey Seller and Playhouse Square announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (July 17) in Cleveland at Playhouse Square. Thirty-Seven (37) orchestra tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, July 15 for tickets to the Tuesday, July 17 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.
