The concerts featured cast members from the original THREE Broadway versions of the show as well as additional stars who would likely be cast in the show if it were revived today. Once again, New York City audiences got the chance to hear songs like 'Into the Fire,' 'Falcon in the Dive,' 'When I Look at You,' 'Storybook,' and 'Where's the Girl?' performed by stars who know how to sing them. BWW Review: Benefit Concert for Cabaret Performer and Cancer Patient ERIN CRONICAN is Entertaining and Emotional at Don't Tell MamaBWW Review: Benefit Concert for Cabaret Performer and Cancer Patient ERIN CRONICAN is Entertaining and Emotional at Don't Tell Mama
by Billie Roe - Feb 29, 2016

There are milestones in everyone's life--events that are so strongly embedded in your memory that you can actually recall the date, the time, the place, and the feelings you had when they occurred. Events like a joyful marriage, the birth of a child, or the loss of a loved one all help to define us as human beings. For a woman you can add to that list a diagnosis of breast cancer. Erin Cronican, a young professional singer, director, writer, show business coach, and self professed “Actor and All-Around fun gal” is a beloved member of the New York theatrical and cabaret communities who is currently undergoing 28 radiation treatments (having previously completed three months of intense chemo therapy) for breast cancer. Cabaret performers and musicians and fans of the art form tend to refer to the people in this tight-knit niche as “the Cabaret Community.” Well, that community is really coming together for one of its own with a benefit concert to raise funds for the extremely popular actor, director, and cabaret performer Erin Cronican, one of a very rare group of women in her 30s who is staging a fierce battle with breast cancer. The star-studded show, billed as Cabaret Beats Cancer and a call to arms to “Crush The Beast” is at Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street, 212-757-0788) on February 27 at 5 pm. (more...)

Since last Thursday was Thanksgiving, tonight will likely be the first time this season that you are going to be experiencing the severe symptoms of acute #TGIT withdraw. Unfortunately, after the November Sweeps period ended, ABC and Shonda Rhimes are keeping her doctors, gladiators, and murderers on the shelf until February 11th, when another sweeps period is in full effect. So, to help ween you off of your OPA addiction (you can't just quit Olivia cold turkey, ask Jake and Fitz), I have assembled a group of clips that show your favorite SCANDAL stars in a slightly different light than you are accustomed to, namely, singing showtunes!  (more...)
