Buffalo 8 has acquired North American rights to South of Hope Street, director Jane Spencer's new sci-fi allegorical film.

The Oscar-qualifying HOLLYSHORTS FILM FESTIVAL, now in its 18th year, will celebrate UK alumni from both 2020 and 2021 editions at a special London reception. The event will occur on Monday, November 29, at a location revealed upon guests' RSVP confirmation.

The organizers behind the Oscar-Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival have revealed their acclaimed 2021 jury. Thirty-two judges will determine over 30 HollyShorts coveted awards including which three will move on to be qualified for Oscar gold.

Tamara Tunie has been set to star in Ghost Bike, a dramatic indie short film, directed and written by Mark Blane (upcoming recurring role in the J.J. Abrams/Sara Bareilles helmed AppleTV+ drama Little Voice). Ghost Bike is Blane's follow-up to his debut feature film Cubby which had an international festival run and North American release in theaters and on VOD platforms in 2019. Cubby, which Blane starred in, wrote, and co-directed, was recently nominated in the 'Buried Treasure' category of the 26th Annual Chlotrudis Awards for Independent Film. Shooting for Ghost Bike gets underway this month in New York City.

Production has wrapped on the international political-action drama REDEMPTION DAY starring Andy Garcia, Gary Dourdan, Serinda Swan, Ernie Hudson, Martin Donovan, Samy Naceri and Brice Bexter. REDEMPTION DAY marks the feature film and directorial debut for Hicham Hajji, the first-ever Moroccan/Arab to write, produce and direct a major Hollywood feature film.

NATPE's LA Screenings Independents announced today a new set of speakers to be featured at the first-ever “Producers Summit,” which will kick off the week long marketplace and conference. The “Producers Summit,” which will be produced by NATPE, on Monday, May 13th, is designed to educate, inform and provide connectivity for attendees, including content producers, exhibitors and buyers from around the world. ITVFEST, the country's only independent television series marketplace Presented by the Television Academy and Sponsored by HBO announced today the festival's first-ever official Jury of industry talent and executives.
